In additional to rehabilitation and training programs, Hounds Town Charities offers several community outreach programs to help individuals and groups learn how to manage and care for dogs. Hounds Town Charities Founder and President Mike Gould works directly with the Department of Social Services to conduct seminars on dog management and dog behavior. The charity also provides financial aid and supplies to several home-bounds senior citizens to help them care for their animals. Mike has also provided dog training free of charge to local community members in need.
Hounds Town Charities Founder and President Mike Gould has conducted educational training seminars at many of the local shelters, providing dog training and management skills and techniques tips to shelter staff and volunteers. Proper dog management and handling in a shelter environment can greatly reduce accidents, help teach dogs proper behavior, and provide much-needed structure for both the dogs and the staff.
