Seeing potential where others saw problems, HTC welcomed Sherlock Bones into our foster program and committed to giving him the time, structure, and support he needed to succeed. Through holistic care, consistent training, socialization, and the application of our core principles—Leadership, Consistency, and Boundaries—Sherlock Bones began to transform.
In just a few short weeks, it became clear that Sherlock Bones wasn't untrainable. He simply needed someone willing to understand him.
Today, HTC is proud to have adopted Sherlock Bones and given him a permanent home and a greater purpose.
Sherlock Bones has begun an intensive training program with the goal of becoming a certified Search and Rescue (SAR) Human Remains Detection (HRD) dog. This demanding journey will include months of obedience training, agility work, environmental exposure, advanced socialization, scent detection, and search exercises as he works toward national certification standards.
Sherlock Bones' story is about more than one dog. It is about resilience, redemption, and the belief that every dog deserves the opportunity to succeed.
